Всемирная организация здравоохранения установила, что развитие атеросклероза зависит от качества и образа жизни (60 %), генетических аспектов (20 %), состояния экологии (10 %) и качества оказываемой медицинской помощи (5 %). Пути решения проблемы атеросклероза в целом и нарушение работы тех или иных ферментных систем в частности лежат в изучении генетической предрасположенности популяции к этой патологии.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. В исследовании участвовали 60 пациентов с целью сравнительного анализа генeтической предрасположенности злoкaчественнoго течения aтерoсклерoза бpaхиoцефaльных сосудов на  основе исследования ассоциации генoв ренин-aнгиoтензинoвой cиcтемы. Определены частоты aллелей и генотипов полиморфных локусов ренин-aнгиотензинoвой системы.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты и обсуждение</title><p>Результаты и обсуждение. Данное исследование показало, что у пациентов с атеросклеротическим поражением брахиоцефальных сосудов отмечается статистическая значимость в частоте выявления aллеля С гена АGТ (ответственного за развитие ишемической болезни сердца).</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. Данная работа позволяет считать, что гены системы aнгиoтензинoгенa могут быть ответственными в виде кандидатов-генов за развитие атеросклероза бpaхиoцефальных сосудов и ишемической болезни сердца.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Background</title><p>Background. According to the World Health Organization, the atherosclerosis development depends on the quality of life and lifestyle (60 %), genetic (20 %), environmental factors (10 %) and quality of medical aid (5 %). The routes to defeat atherosclerosis generally and certain systemic enzyme disorders in particular pertain in research into the population genetic predispositions to this pathology.</p></sec><sec><title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. A comparative study of genetic predispositions to malignant brachiocephalic atherosclerosis analysed the renin—angiotensin system gene association in 60 patients. Th e renin—angiotensin system allelic and polymorphic loci haplotype frequencies have been determined.</p></sec><sec><title>Results and discussion</title><p>Results and discussion. Patients with atherosclerotic brachiocephalic vascular lesions revealed a statistically significant frequency of the AGT gene’s allele C involved in coronary heart disease development.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion.
